Ummatic Week @ IIUM 2012

Ummatic week is a program thatdisplayed the diversity and uniqueness of culture at the international Islamic University the Ummatic-week highlights the cultures of various countries representing in IIUM such as from Africa, the Middle East and Asia.

The objective of Umatic-Week is to promote and help realize the vision and mission of   the University:Integration, Islamization, Internationalization and Comprehensive Excellence (Triple ICE).To expose IIUM community to the plight of Muslim societies around the globe.

• To strengthen the spirit of brotherhood an enhance the spirit of caring & helping among the  IIUM community.

• To provide a universal platform for the students and staff to exchange ideas as a way to understand and appreciate each other. 

Umatic week is an unforgettable moment in students’ lives; it promises to fix back the lost joy and promotes 

brotherhood among students.  It was both happy and joy moment especially for IIUM Students. The happy

 part of the event was that I was able to travel the whole world without air ticket .as logic will say, for two from different places to meet, one must move towards the other. Ummatic week pulled the countries 

of the world together in the cultural activities center (CAC) within minutes one could move from South to 

West from North to east. It was an experimental; students learnt a lot about the countries by visiting their booths                                                                                

       

Guinea

the most amazing part was that student in charge of   his/ her countries were clad in their traditional 

dresses waiting for their guests with sweet smiles and welcome expression in their language, then introduce their guest to their exhibits such as picture of famous personalities in their countries, souvenirs and other cultural related items. Another thing that made the event more interesting was the small beautiful gifts, food testing and dance performance. The ummatic week is the way to promotes different culture in IIUM people will wear their traditional dresses and perform traditional dance.
